Research and Development Part 2

Over the course of the last couple weeks, I have been watching a lot of photoshop videos on YouTube. Specifically, the channel Phlearn has a lot of amazing videos. I watched their video series on how to do photo composites which is something that I’m extremely interested in trying out for this project. The videos talked about methods to match light and color throughout pictures so that there will be one cohesive feel throughout the composite. I also watched a lot of videos about masking because I learned that that’s one of the most important things to learn in photoshop. Both things were very helpful and combined with my previous knowledge, I think that I have a solid beginning foundation to go into this project. I don’t have all of the information memorized, but I have a good idea I believe that I will continue to learn my future knowledge from the Phlearn channel on YouTube because they seem to really know what they’re talking about, and they break it down in a very easy to understand format.

I still need to look up how to dodge and burn, but the masking video takes care of the levitation process. I would put my subject on a stool, and then mask it out in post-production. I think the biggest challenge is to actually execute these things. The videos obviously make things look a lot easier than they really are, and I know that from personal experience. I don’t fully know if I would do a photo composite yet. It’s definitely something I want to do, but I don’t really have a solid idea for it yet. I’m actually am interested in this YouTube channel, so I think regardless of this project, I will continue to watch them and learn different Photoshop skills.
